I recently came across a collection of old film cameras at the second hand shop, and came home with a Voigtlander identical to the one my Dad had for many years, and another Ziess Ikon Contina II from the same era in perfect working condition.
Then a few weeks ago, I was rummaging in a box of stuff, and found my old Contax 139 Quartz. A wonderful camera, with much better quality lenses than my current Canon SLR. The film that was in it when I bought my first 1.3mp fixed focus digital camera was still there, so I had it processed. Even after 15 years, the results were not too bad. That got me thinking.....the Contax is no longer serviceable, 20+ years of photography had worn it out. But, ebay to the rescue! These cameras and lenses are now very affordable, and I can adapt the lenses to the Canon DSLR, which has transformed it. In the meantime, I have bought some film, and am having a lot of fun with these two little beauties.....
